Brat Bheinn Cottage, Isle of Jura

The island of Jura is a beautiful but little known island with a population of some 200 people and 6000 deer. The 115 miles of coastline features caves, cliffs, raised beaches and long stretches of white sand. Many rare species lie here, including the otter, and you can see seals basking on the rocks.

Brat Bheinn is a modern single storey semi-detached cottage located at the wonderfully peaceful Crackaig Bay close to the rocky shoreline and a short walk from a sandy beach.

Crackaig Bay lies one and a half miles from the main village of Craighouse where you will find the usual amenities including petrol pumps, post office, gift shop, tearoom and hotel with bar and restaurant. The famous Isle of Jura Malt Whisky Distillery is also to be found at Craighouse.

From the cottage there are magnificent sea views and beyond towards Kintyre and the Isle of Gigha. On a clear day the Island of Mull and the tip of Northern Ireland are also visible.
